Admissions and Eligibility

Q: What are the entry requirements?
A: Recognized Bachelor’s degree, teaching aptitude, and adequate Ivrit. We will need to receive copies of your degree certificates and transcripts, and you will be asked to take an online Ivrit test to determine your level. Q: Do I need to speak Hebrew fluently?
A: While fluent Ivrit is not a prerequisite for our program, we believe that you will be a more successful teacher if you are able to communicate effectively. In addition to the pedagogy courses in English, we offer a customized Ulpan program to help you improve your Ivrit, with special lessons that focus on the terminology that teachers need to use in the classroom, for report-writing and for parents’ evenings.

Q: Are trainee teachers paid?
A: Participants who start teaching during the program (on days when there are no classes) can be paid by their employer at the standard salary for trainee teachers (“stagers” in Hebrew).
