Our Story: The People, Periods, and Principles of Tanakh

A meaningful overview of the entire Tanakh that can be utilized as actual content in the classroom and as a broader pedagogic worldview to inform all Tanakh teaching. This course is mandatory for the Tanakh Teaching Certificate Program.

About the Course

It is natural to look at the written works of Tanakh linearly, but this is often misleading for students and teachers.  Various books overlap with one another.  The same prophet can appear in more than one book, a narrative can be repeated in both.  When students learn the books as separate units, the broader picture is often missed. The goal of this course is to provide a meaningful overview that can be utilized as actual content in the classroom and as a broader pedagogic worldview that can inform any Tanakh teaching. Each module will focus on one period of time and its interrelated texts, figures, and watershed events.

This is one of the mandatory courses that you need to take in order to complete our Tanakh Teacher Certificate Program.
