About the Course
Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks zt’l was a Torah scholar, philosopher, and global religious leader. But above all else, he was a teacher who inspired Jews and non-Jews around the world through his remarkable lectures and through his 39 published books including 10 volumes on the weekly Torah portion. In this course we will identify and explore the exegetical methodologies used by Rabbi Sacks in his remarkable Torah essays, and consider how Jewish Studies teachers can those skills in their classrooms.
About the Instructor
Rabbi Johnny Solomon is an experienced Jewish educator, curriculum writer and spiritual guide. He received semicha from Rabbi Sacks in 2009 and he has been teaching courses on Rabbi Sacks’ writings since 2013. He is also the author of ‘Chiefly Quotes’ – a digital resource of quotes from all of Rabbi Sacks’ books. Rav Johnny teaches Halacha and Machshava at Matan and Midreshet Lindenbaum, and he provides online spiritual coaching and halachic consultation services as #theVirtualRabbi to those without a Rabbi.
