Herzog Global Jewish Educators’ Day 2024

Affective Education in the Jewish Studies Classroom

Jewish Educators’ Day, Monday, August 5, 2024

Herzog Global’s second Jewish Educators’ Day will take place on Monday, August 5, on the topic of “Affective Education in the Kodesh Classroom”.

Confirmed speakers include Rabbi Dr. Jacob J. Schacter, Dr. Deena Rabinovich, Rav Reuven Spolter, Rav Dovid’l Weinberg, Gitta Neufeld, and Dr. Tova Lichtenstein in conversation with Rabbanit Esti Rosenberg.

We will discuss different ways of combining academic teaching with personal and social education that takes into account the feelings and attitudes of students. The goals of affective education include fostering students’ development as healthy individuals, and improving their interpersonal relationships as a cohesive group.

The sessions will be recorded and shared on YouTube for later viewing.
(You can watch all the sessions from the 2023 Jewish Educators’ Day here.)

This Monday program is part of the Yemei Iyun B’Tanakh Bible studies conference at Herzog College in Alon Shvut, which includes four full days of advanced Tanakh lectures in Hebrew and English, and a Tanakh-focused touring day click here for details.
